New applications should be accessible through the InGeoCloudS main application portal located in URL http://portal.ingeoclouds.eu. The Web Portal relies on the open source Sitools2 framework. Application providers will have to integrate the user interface of their applications with the portal using the back office functionality provided by Sitools2 in URL http://portal.ingeoclouds.eu/sitools/client-admin/. Sitools2 itself provides a very comprehensive user’s guide on how to perform the steps required to fulfil a specific task.

How to integrate a new application with the portal

Connect to the Sitools’ backoffice at http://portal.ingeoclouds.eu/sitools/client-admin/ using credentials provided by InGeoCloudS.

  • In the left panel “Menu”, under “Access Management/Projects”, click on “Projects”. The main panel loads and displays the list of projects.
  • Click on “Create”. A window appears.
  • Project Information” tab: this is the global information tab, fill every text field and customize the “Description HTML” and the “Maintenance text” as you wish.
  • IHMtab:
    1. Choose the Navigation Mode. Desktop will display resizable windows in the project whereas Fixed will display plain windows.
    2. Leave CSS field blank and Template as it is.
    3. You can personalize the header of the project window
  • Select Modules” tab:
    1. Click on the “All disable” button
    2. Tick the “igcsFrameModule
    3. Double click in the “Label” cell and enter the label you want (in the example “Test for Wiki”)
    4. Click on the “Module Parameter” icon
    5. Fill the “Website URL” field with the address of the website you want to display
    6. Press “OK” twice.
  • In the project list, select your new project and click on “Enable”. A popup appears, informing you that the project has been activated. The status of the project is now “ACTIVE”.
  • You are done with the Sitools back office. Go the portal and your project should be accessible.

How to add an application description

Connect to the Sitools’ backoffice at http://portal.ingeoclouds.eu/sitools/client-admin/ using credentials provided by InGeoCloudS.

  • In the Menu, under Access Management/Projects, click on Projects
  • All the projects integrated in Sitools appear in the right part
  • Select your project and then click “Disable
  • A popup appears and the status is then “inactive”
  • Click on “Edit”
  • In the first tab “Project Information”, you have a textarea named “HTML Description”. Some text is added there by default when the project is created. Delete this text and enter yours. It will be displayed in the « Project description » module. You can write some description of your use case, a wiki or a HowTo guide.
  • Once done, click “OK”. Select your project again and click “Enable”. A popup informs you that the project is now active and the status is changed back.
  • You are done with the back office part. You can see the result in your application on the portal.
